Despite filled capacities of Brodotrogir, agreed orders worth 200 million dollars and a positive business, workers’ salaries for February are late. It is announced the work stoppage if salary is delayed one day more. Vedran Dragičević, the president of Croatian Metal Workers Union, pointed out that it was convened a conciliation with the employer, while from the shipyard have informed that this was a temporary illiquidity due to delayed salaries from contracting authorities.
A spokeswoman of “Brodotrogir” Ivana Mitar confirmed the imminent payment of salaries, and announced that the shipyard this year work at full speed after completed construction of two chemical tankers for their own use (for the company VITERLEF MANAGEMENT LTD). Also are planned offshore ships of special purpose, yachts, a series of smaller tankers, and overhauls. The restructuring process of the shipyard should be completed at the beginning of 2018.
