This year as well, Croatian students will participate in the “Formula Student” competition, in which, unlike in the traditional competitions, the competitors are not ranked base on speed, but based on the technical characteristics of their vehicles. There are currently fifty members in the team, from seven different faculties – the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Political Science, the School of Design at the Faculty of Architecture etc. Each of them contributes to the project;  for example, the students of mechanical engineering construct the racing cars, the students of electrical engineering and computing construct their electronics, the students of journalism work on marketing… The competition will be held in August, this year in Germany and Hungary. The strongest competition comes from developed countries such as Austria, Germany and Great Britain, since there are a lot of big sponsors there, but our competitors make up for the lack of funds through innovativeness. They emphasize thinking outside the box as their main advantage. They also emphasize that their innovativeness has brought them extra points and acknowledgements at every competition. The goal of this competition is not just enjoyment, but also the acquisition of significant practical experience, which is lacking at our faculties and which helps the students in their future employment.
