BLEPHAROPLASTY
Blepharoplasty is an aesthetic correction of the eyelids and is considered a minor and very effective aesthetic procedure, which presents no major risks for the patient if performed by an experienced aesthetic surgeon. The excess skin and fatty tissue are removed with precision according to a measured and delineated shape.
Blepharoplasty is performed under local anaesthesia with sedation, meaning that the patient is asleep during the procedure and that the procedure is painless for him or her.
The patient spends approximately 6 hours in the polyclinic: pre-operative preparation takes 1 hour, the procedure itself takes approximately an hour and a half and the rest of the time is devoted to post-operative rest. Once the procedure is completed, the patient is referred to home care – or in this case, to the Medena hotel.
Depending on the individual, postoperative recovery after eyelid correction takes approximately a week. EAR CORRECTION
Prominent ear correction is an aesthetic surgical procedure which successfully and permanently eliminates the problem of prominent or deformed ears. The procedure is minor and painless for the patient. Ear correction is a successful aesthetic procedure which permanently solves the problem of otapostasis. The operation is performed under local anaesthesia, but it can also be performed under general anaesthesia.
There are several methods of solving the problem of prominent ears, mostly involving incisions behind the concha in order to get to the cartilage, whose position needs to be corrected. The cartilage is modelled, its excess removed if necessary, the skin is recontoured and the conchae are fixed in a normal position. The bandage is usually held for 24 – 48 hours and replaced by an elastic band which is worn for the following 5 days. For three to four weeks after the operation, the elastic band is worn at night in order to prevent accidental ear injury during sleeping.
