[:en]The economy of Rijeka is based on five activities, such as manufacturing, storage, professional scientific and technical activities, trade and construction. These activities 2015. had a share of 85% of total income. The largest number of entrepreneurs in Rijeka is related to the trade sector with a share of 23.7%. Follow professional, scientific and technical activities with 880 entrepreneurs or 20.6%. It is developed also construction with 10.2 % of share and manufacturing industry with 9% while transport and storage holds 5.1% of share. These top 5 activities bind 75.4% of all employees in the city of Rijeka. According to data from consulting company Bisonde, in Rijeka currently operates 10548 business entities. During 2016. it is established them 715, while at the same time extinguished 955. For example, pharmaceutical company from Rijeka Jadran Galenic Laboratory is the third largest in its sector in Croatia and last year opened a new factory. It is especially visible growth in professional, scientific and technical activities, and the growing number of entrepreneurs and increase of their incomes in the field of designing in the segment of shipbuilding and architecture.
Today is visible at each step transition of Rijeka from port and industrial city that is increasingly turning to entrepreneurship and tourism. With the aim of further transformation, raising the quality of urban spaces, creating new recognizable urban ambiences, as well as space for the development of economic activities, investment cycle will continue the realization of new projects.
Andrija Vitezić, city chief of entrepreneurship, points out the importance of cooperation with the University of Rijeka with which cooperate in several projects.
There is also a port of Rijeka that achieves numerous positive effects for the national economy. Upon Croatian entering to the EU for the Rijeka port have opened numerous opportunities such as the abolition of the customs zone, better circulation of goods, more direct domestic and foreign investments, and connection of Europe and Asian markets. Projects such as Gateway and Waterfront, expansion of storage areas Škrljevo, lowland line Rijeka-Zagreb-Botovo, and transport logistics center Miklavija are very important not only for the city of Rijeka, also for Croatia. Rijeka is focused on the development of starup’s based on the implementation of new technologies.
[:hr]Gospodarstvo Rijeke se temelji na pet djelatnosti, a to su prerađivačka industrija, skladištenje, stručne znanstvene i tehničke djelatnosti, trgovina i građevinarstvo. Ove su djelatnosti 2015. godine imale udio od 85% u ukupnim prihodima. Najveći broj poduzetnika u Rijeci vezan je uz sektor trgovine s udjelom od 23,7%. Slijede stručne, znanstvene i tehničke djelatnosti s 880 poduzetnika ili 20,6%. Razvijeno je i građevinarstvo s 10,2% udjela te prerađivačka industrija s 9% dok prijevoz i skladištenje drži 5,1% udjela. Ovih top 5 djelatnosti vežu 75,4% svih zaposlenih u gradu Rijeci. Prema podacima konzultantske kuće Bisonde, u Rijeci trenutno posluje 10548 poslovnih subjekata. Tijekom 2016. osnovano ih je 715, dok je istovremeno ugašeno 955. Primjerice, riječka farmaceutska tvrtka Jadran Galenski Laboratorij 3. je po veličini u svom sektoru u Hrvatskoj a lani je otvorila novu tvornicu. Posebno je vidljiv rast u stručnim, znanstvenim i tehničkim djelatnostima te sve većem broju poduzetnika i povećanju njihovih prihoda u području projektiranja u segmentu brodogradnje i arhitekture.
Danas je na svakom koraku vidljiva tranzicija Rijeke iz lučkog i industrijskog grada koji se sve više okreće poduzetništvu i turizmu. S ciljem daljnje transformacije, podizanja kvalitete urbanih prostora, stvaranja novih prepoznatljivih gradskih ambijenata, te prostora za razvoj gospodarskih aktivnosti, investicijski ciklus će se nastaviti realizacijom novih projekata.
Andrija Vitezić, gradski pročelnik za poduzetništvo, ističe važnost suradnje i sa Sveučilištem u Rijeci s kojim surađuju u nekoliko projekata.
Tu je i riječka luka koja ostvaruje brojne pozitivne efekte za nacionalno gospodarstvo. Ulaskom Hrvatske u EU za riječku su se luku otvorile brojne mogućnosti poput ukidanja carinske zone, bolje cirkulacije robe, više direktnih domaćih i stranih ulaganja te povezivanje europskog i azijskog tržišta. Projekti poput Gateway i Waterfront, proširenje skladišne zone Škrljevo, nizinska pruga Rijeka-Zagreb-Botovo, te prometno logistički centar Miklavija vrlo su važi ne samo za grad Rijeku već i za Hrvatsku. Rijeka se usmjerila i na razvoj starup-ova temeljenih na implementaciji novih tehnologija.

Folgen professionellen, wissenschaftlichen und technischen Tätigkeiten mit 880 Unternehmern oder 20,6%. Es ist auch Konstruktion mit 10,2% der Aktien und der verarbeitenden Industrie mit 9% entwickelt, während Transport und Lagerung hält 5,1% der Aktie. Diese Top 5 Aktivitäten binden 75,4% aller Beschäftigten in der Stadt Rijeka. Nach Angaben der Beratungsunternehmen Bisonde, in Rijeka betreibt 10548 Unternehmen derzeit. Während 2016. es ist 715 von ihnen gegründet, während zur gleichen Zeit 955 erloschen ist. Zum Beispiel Pharmaunternehmen von Rijeka Jadran Galenic Laboratory ist der drittgrößte in seinem Sektor in Kroatien und im letzten Jahr eröffnete eine neue Fabrik. Es ist besonders sichtbares Wachstum in freiberufliche, wissenschaftliche und technische Tätigkeiten und die wachsende Zahl der Unternehmer und der Erhöhung ihrer Einkommen auf dem Gebiet der Bauprojekten im Segment der Schiffbau und Architektur.
Heute ist sichtbar bei jedem Schritt die Übergang vom Rijeka aus Hafen und Industriestadt , die immer mehr zu Unternehmertum und Tourismus dreht. Mit dem Ziel der weiteren Transformation, der Steigerung der Qualität der städtischen Räume, der Schaffung neuer erkennbarer städtischer Räume sowie des Raumes für die Entwicklung der Wirtschaftstätigkeit wird der Investitionszyklus die Realisierung neuer Projekte fortsetzen.
Andrija Vitezić, der Stadtleiter des Unternehmertums, betont die Bedeutung der Zusammenarbeit mit der Universität Rijeka, die in mehreren Projekten zusammenarbeiten.
Es gibt auch die Hafen von Rijeka, der zahlreiche positive Effekte für die Volkswirtschaft erzielt. Nach dem kroatischen Eintritt in die EU für den Hafen von Rijeka haben zahlreiche Möglichkeiten, wie die Abschaffung der Zollzone, eine bessere Zirkulation von Waren, mehr direkte in – und ausländischen Investitionen und die Verbindung von Europa und den asiatischen Märkten eröffnet. Die Projekten wie Gateway und Waterfront, die Erweiterung der Lagerflächen Škrljevo, die Tieflandstraße Rijeka-Zagreb-Botovo und das Transportlogistikzentrum Miklavija sind nicht nur für die Stadt Rijeka von großer Bedeutung, auch für Kroatien. Rijeka ist auf die Entwicklung von starups auf der Grundlage der Einführung neuer Technologien konzentriert.[:]
