For this reason the market is called Fruit market, although today there is no trace of fruit. Located between Riva and Pjaca, today abounds with cafes, restaurants and exclusive shops, where are often held various fairs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>However, this picturesque name market\u00a0 tells us ancient history. On the northern side lies the Baroque palace of the old family Milesi from the 17th century, famous for its windows which can be also seen at Stradun in Dubrovnik. Its facade is the best example of Baroque style in Dalmatia. On the west side of the square is the octagonal Venetian tower from 1441, as a reminder of defense against the Turks or other rebellion in the city.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In front of the palace Milesi is a bronze monument to Marko Maruli\u0107, father of Croatian literature, set July 26, 1925. Behind this great name stands another Croatian artist, Ivan Me\u0161trovi\u0107, the author of the monument. The day before the monument was placed,\u00a0 the Adriatic exhibition\u00a0 was opened\u00a0 and people celebrated the opening of the railway between Gra\u010dac and Knin, what made Split and Zagreb directly linked by rail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Another interesting thing about fruit market is that it was a central location in one of the most popular Croatian TV series, &#8220;Velo misto&#8221;.<\/span>[:hr]<span>Splitski Trg Stjepana Radi\u0107a nekad je bilo \u017eivopisno mjesto na kojemu su mje\u0161tani obli\u017enjih sela prodavali vo\u0107e. Upravo iz tog razloga trg nosi ima Vo\u0107ni, iako danas vo\u0107u nema ni traga. Smje\u0161ten izme\u0111u Rive i Pjace, danas obiluje kafi\u0107ima, restoranima i ekskluzivnim trgovinama, na kojem se nerijetko odr\u017eavaju razni sajmovi. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>No, ovaj trg slikovitog imena pri\u010da i povijest. Na njegovoj sjevernoj strani smje\u0161tena je barokna pala\u010da stare obitelji Milesi iz 17.stolje\u0107a, prepoznatljiva po svojim prozorima \u201ena koljeno\u201c\u00a0 kakvi se jo\u0161 mogu vidjeti i na dubrova\u010dkom Stradunu. Njezina fasada predstavlja najbolji primjer baroknog stila u Dalmaciji. \u00a0Na zapadnoj strani trga nalazi se osmerokutna mleta\u010dka kula iz 1441.godine kao podsjetnik obrane od Turaka ili neke druge pobune u gradu. Ispred pala\u010de Milesi smje\u0161ten je bron\u010dani spomenik Marka Maruli\u0107a, oca hrvatske knji\u017eevnosti, postavljen 26. srpnja 1925. godine. Iza ovog velikog imena stoji jo\u0161 jedan hrvatski umjetnik, Ivan Me\u0161trovi\u0107, autor spomenika. Dan prije njegovog otkrivanja otvorena je Jadranska izlo\u017eba te proslavljeno otvaranje pruge izme\u0111u Gra\u010daca i Knina \u010dime su se Split i Zagreb izravno povezali \u017eeljeznicom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Jo\u0161 jedna od zanimljivosti vo\u0107nog trga jest da je bio sredi\u0161nje mjesto u jednoj od najpopularnijih hrvatskih TV serija, \u201eVelom mistu\u201c.<\/span>[:de]Der Stjepan Radi\u0107 Platz in Split war einst ein lebendiger Ort, wo die Bewohner der umliegenden D\u00f6rfer Obst verkauften. Aus diesem Grund wird er Obst-Platz genannt, obwohl es heute keine Spur von Obst hier gibt. <span>Zwischen<\/span> der K\u00fcste und <span>dem Markt positioniert<\/span>, <span>der Platz ist heute reich<\/span> <span>an<\/span> Caf\u00e9s, Restaurants und exklusiven Gesch\u00e4ften<span>. Oft finden hier verschiedene Messen statt<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Dieser pittoresk genannter Platz, jedoch, ist auch ein Zeuge der Geschichte. Auf der Nordseite des Platzes <span>befindet sich ein Barockschloss <\/span>der alten Familie Milesi aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, <span>erkennbar durch ihre<\/span> spezifischen Fenster, <span>welche man<\/span> noch auf dem Stradun in Dubrovnik <span>sehen kann<\/span>. <span>Die Fassade des Schlosses<\/span> ist das beste Beispiel des Barocks in Dalmatien. Auf der Westseite des Platzes befindet sich <span>ein achteckiger venezianischer<\/span> <span>Turm aus<\/span> <span>1441<\/span> als Erinnerung an die Verteidigung gegen die T\u00fcrken oder <span>anderen<\/span> Rebellionen <span>in der Stadt<\/span>. Vor dem Palast Milesi <span>befindet sich ein<\/span> Bronzedenkmal <span>an<\/span> Marko Maruli\u0107, <span>den Vater<\/span> der kroatischen Literatur, errichtet am 26 Juli 1925.
