China is the largest producer of solar energy! Yes, it’s not the first country for which we thought when are mentioned renewable energy sources, but data for 2016. shows that their production rose to 77.42 GW (read: GW) of energy, and by 2020. plans to add 110 solar gigawatts more. This is currently only 1% of Chinese production. This relationship is not the same when looking at other countries in terms of population.
