The closest encounter of the Earth and the asteroid from September 2016. took place on 29th January 2017. At a distance of only 65280 kilometers asteroid 2017 BH30 was farther from Earth as compared with the September 2016 RB1 which was at “only” 39 000 kilometers. It was discovered a few hours before passing near the Earth, and it is estimated that the diameter was 5 to 10 meters. Even closer encounter is planned for October this year, when the asteroid 2012 TC4 will approach at approximately 32000 kilometers.
