Uber, a company engaged in transport services, decided to turn to the development of flying transport facilities. Mark Moore, a former NASA engineer joined them in the development of the first flying car intended for private ownership. In 2010. for the American space agency he prepared a document that describes the possibility of flying vehicles, that inspired Larry Page, founder of Google to invest in two startups that deal with this area. The vision of the future urban transport includes “vertiport” – small airports for VTOL (vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft that could function as bus stations. For the beginning, aircrafts would have a pilot and later would fly independent, they would be driven by electric power with speed 80 to 160 km. In Uber, Moore will get the position of chief engineer within the department Uber Elevate.
