The independent city councilor Ivan Šimić was presented as a candidate of Živi zid for the mayor of the Makarska. Ivan Vilibor Sinčić presented Šimić as an excellent innovator who can improve life in the city, and country. Šimić is inventor of wind saltwork, technology that could change the industry of salt at the global level and stop importing of salt in Croatia, as well as employ ten thousands of people.
